Following a successful debut in 2014, Deep Water Soloing returns to Exeter this August Bank Holiday weekend as a four-day festival of climbing.
Once again taking place in Exeter's canal basin, right next to event organiser The Quay Climbing Centre. The awesome Entre-Prises UK designed wall will be back; standing 7 metres high and 12 metres wide, this time it will have an extended overhang to add a little more spice to the routes!
The competition routes will once again be set by leading UK setters Gaz Parry and Mike Langley; routes will start at V3/4 and work up to V14! The wall will float out and three competitors will climb simultaneously, adding to the visual spectacle of the event and increasing the splash count for those watching on the large piazza opposite.
This year the competition will open on Friday 28 August just after 4pm with the Under 16 qualifiers; Saturday will see the Open qualifiers, with the semis and finals taking place on Sunday; an open day on Bank Holiday Monday will allow everyone to have some fun on the wall.
