If you have an interest in hill walking, come along to our special area meeting later this month, where we will be asking the question: ‘what do hill walkers want from the BMC?’

The meeting will be held in the Garden Room at The Wheatley Arms in Ben Rhydding on Monday 20 April 2015, starting at 7.30pm.

Our new hill walking strategy aims to make the BMC the natural home for hill walkers. BMC hill walking development officer Carey Davies, BMC CEO Dave Turnbull and BMC Yorkshire Area hill walking rep Paul Redding will present our plans for hill walkers.

We’ll also have a Q&A session, and find out what people think are the key issues for hill walking in the Yorkshire Area; plus there will be a discussion on the impact of cuts on national park authorities, with representatives from the Yorkshire Dales National Park present.

Read How has the Yorkshire Dales National Park responded to budget cuts? on the BMC website.

Cotswold Outdoor will have a display of hill walking gear and staff will be there to answer any questions.

The area meetings are run by volunteers and are your chance to join in with debate and influence decisions about what happens in Yorkshire as well as the rest of the country.

All are welcome. Food will be provided.
