The venues for the 2016 BMC Youth Climbing Series have been finalised and you can now enter online for the series.
The BMC YCS has been expanding at a rapid rate for the last couple of years with over 800 young climbers entering in 2015.

ENTRY FOR ALL ROUNDS IS NOW CLOSED
The deadline for entries is 12pm on the Thursday before each round. Please note that entries submitted after that, and entries on the day, will not be accepted.
The cost of entry is:
1 round - BMC members: £12, non-members: £18 and those on income support: £7
2 rounds - BMC members: £22, non-members: £32 and those on income support: £12
3 rounds - BMC members: £30, non-members: £48 and those on income support: £18
It is much cheaper to enter the YCS if you are a member of the BMC, if you enter all three rounds the cost of your membership is recouped in just your entry fee alone, then you have all the other great benefits of being a

Non-member and Income Support entry include 3 months membership of the BMC which automatically includes free Combined Liability and Personal Accident insurance for all events.
Note that for Welsh residents qualification for the Welsh Final is dependent on the results from rounds 1 & 2. There is no charge for the Welsh Final.
Each round starts at 0930 with registration and climbing starts at around 1000, with each round normally concluding by approx. 1600 - this is totally dependent on the number of entrants in each round and the size of the venue.
Reminder of how London & SE Area split works.
The London & SE Area is split north to south along the line of the M4/Thames river unless you have an RG (Reading post code).
London & SE - North area - all those competitors living north of the M4/Thames river or living in an area with an RG postcode will compete in this area.
London & SE - South area - all those competitors living south of the M4/Thames river that don't have an RG postcode will compete in this area.
For 2016 - London & SE North and London & SE South will each be two completly separate areas, with a full 30 competitors qualifying from each region for the national final.
Parental Consent Form
To take part, the parent/guardian of a each competitor must complete a parental consent form. Consent forms can be returned to the BMC office before the date of the event - please mark FAO Amii Wilkes or bring them with you on the day of the event.

There are five categories, with separate girls and boys competitions, that follow the IFSC (International Federation of Sport Climbing) system based on year of birth. The categories are called Youth A, B, C, D and E.
In 2016 these are:
Youth A - those born in 1999 & 2000
Youth B – those born in 2001 & 2002
Youth C – those born in 2003 & 2004
Youth D – those born in 2005 & 2006
Youth E - those born in 2007 & 2008
