BMC Crag Code

The BMC has developed a new code of conduct to encourage the sustainable use of crags in England and Wales. The code consists of ten important reminders for people visiting climbing areas – from respecting the rock and other people, to keeping to established footpaths.

The aim is for the Code to be used in guidebooks, climbing publications, MLT literature, on websites and on posters at indoor climbing walls. The BMC is asking organisations and individuals to help promote a sustainable future for our crags firstly by following the code and secondly by publicising it as appropriate.
