Sunderland Wall staged the deciding round of this winter’s British Indoor Climbing Championships at the weekend.

Natalie Berry and Lucy Creamer retained the Junior Female and Senior Female titles respectively and convincingly by winning all three rounds in the series. In the Junior Male category, Tyler Landman entered only one round, which he won, but couldn’t retain his title, which was claimed by Robert Mackenzie, who narrowly beat Martin Watson, both of them having won a round. In the absence of Steve McClure, odds-on favourite Gareth Parry was pushed hard by Adrian Berry and France’s Nicolas Ecoffet, but victory at Sunderland enabled him to lift the Senior Male title.
