The latest addition to the award-winning British Mountain Map series covers the Brecon Beacons National Park.
Home to spectacular landscapes, a rich variety of wildlife and fascinating cultural and geological heritage, the area boasts a magnificent array of sandstone peaks, open moorland and green valleys spanning 520 square miles of beautiful mid-Wales countryside.
British Mountain Maps are published by Harvey Maps in conjunction with the BMC, and are designed especially for climbers, hill walkers and mountaineers. The 1:40,000 scale maps use contour colour shading for easy identification of hills and valleys, and are printed on polyethylene, making them lightweight, tear-resistant and waterproof. The reverse side of each map contains mountain incident and first aid advice, navigation tips, useful visitor information, and geological information provided by the British Geological Survey.
“The Brecon Beacons have an irresistible draw and this is where I began my journey to the roof of the world. The breathtaking landscape provides challenges and adventures for all ages and abilities and this expertly designed map is the key to exploring it.”
Tori James, the first Welsh woman to climb Everest.
