Wilton crag restoration day - 20/03/2011

Rhododendron clearance at a previous Wilton restoration day

Calling all North West climbers! A crag restoration day is planned at Wilton 1 on Sunday 20th March to give the crag a spring clean in anticipation of the (hopefully) fast approaching good weather.

The main focus of work will be removal of rhododendron along the crag top and base to help the rock to dry out, along with digging back some of the loose earth top-outs and cleaning routes themselves. If possible, bring tools such as: loppers, bow saws and spades and if you are planning on cleaning routes: abseil equipment, secateurs and (non wire) brushes.

The success of events such as these depends on a good turn out and everyone is welcome, so please come along from 10am on Sunday 20th March (even if you only have a few hours to spare) and help give Wilton the spring clean it deserves.
