First Climbing Wall Leader Award holders

Launched in March this year, the Climbing Wall Leader Award is moving along rapidly with two candidates recently gaining the award.

Since the award's launch three months ago over fifty candidates have registered for the scheme, some of whom have attended a training course.

Congratulations to Martin Cleaver and Sam Stokes who recently became the first Climbing Wall Leader Award holders, passing their assessment course at the Redpoint Climbing Centre in Birmingham. Find out more on the Mountain Leader Training website.

Throughout this year, the BMC are delivering workshops to support those working in climbing walls, with an emphasis on the coaching of climbing movement the FUNdamentals of Climbing and Learning to Train workshops complement both the Climbing Wall Award and Climbing Wall Leader Award schemes.

A comprehensive programme of workshops for all award holders is delivered by the Mountain Leader Training Association.
