Each of the BMC's nine regions (e.g. Lakes, North West) has one representative on the committee. The national clubs have two representatives in total. The current committee comprises

The members of the committee are elected annually. The elections for Regional Reps take place in November each year at the associated Local Area Meeting. National Reps are elected by a ballot managed by the BMC’s Clubs Officer. Some members of the current committee are standing for election again, but all clubs are invited to nominate someone from their membership. The nomination process is straightforward:
Nominations
Regional & National clubs should submit their nomination to the BMC Office through their President or Chair. This should include a supporting statement by the candidate of no more than 200 words. Nominations should be sent to Martin Kocsis by post or email (martin@thebmc.co.uk) All nominations will be made public on the BMC Website in the first week of October.
Elections
The election process is different for each type of club:
Regional club reps are elected by a show of hands at the November round of Local Area Meetings. Each BMC club member at the meeting gets one vote.
National club reps are elected by votes submitted to the BMC Clubs Officer. Each National Club gets two votes. National clubs may not vote for their own nominee.
The deadline for nominations is 5pm on Friday 1st October
