Bond boys win People's Choice for Asgard Project
The full programme of events ensured visitors could binge their way through adventure films, inspiring talks and panel discussions. There's just never enough time to see it all!
The BMC was in attendance and delighted that the new Roaches guidebook arrived hot off the press in time for visitors to get their eagerly awaited copies.
The Boardman Tasker Prize for Mountain Literature, announced on Friday, went to Steve House for his autobiography Beyond the Mountain. That's one book to put on your Christmas list, along with the others on the shortlist.
The literary sessions throughout the weekend proved popular, with Jonny Dawes, Jerry Moffatt, Steve House and John Allen all being interviewed on stage. You can read extracts from some of their books here.
At the film awards ceremony last night the Grand Prize was awarded to the film First Ascent – Alone On The Wall by Peter Mortimer and Nick Rosen. This 24 minute film, which came top in the Climbing Film category, features Alex Honnold's landmark free-solo of Moonlight Buttress Zion National Park, Utah and his remarkable free-solo of Regular Northwest Face on Yosemite’s Half Dome.
The Friday night film premiere of The Asgard Project went down a storm, with the Baffin Island team arriving in full premiere style, dressed in James Bond tuxedos. Film maker Alastair Lee described Leo Houlding as a "jedi" and the force was certainly with them as the film went on to win the People's Choice Award.

Trail magazine and Live for the Outdoors screened the finalists of the Homemade Mountain Movies Award and announced their winner as Terry Abraham's video Nirvana. You can watch the short film at Live for the Outdoors.
