Issue 7 of the BMC Peak Area newsletter is now online, keeping you informed about what’s happening in the region.
The issue includes: all you need to know about the BMC National Council; ‘Life as an Elf’ working for one of the area’s homegrown outdoor companies; the warmed up dinner of a Mountain Rescue Team member; the trials and tribulations of being a climber in north east Lincolnshire; a who’s who of Peak Area Access Reps; and the regular calendar of upcoming events.

The next Peak Area Meeting is at 20.30 on Wednesday 10 June, at The Winking Man, A53 Leek – Buxton Road, Staffordshire.
How to find the Winking Man
The later start time is to enable people to grab a quick fix at one of the nearby crags. Come along and get involved. With interesting conversation and free food (you have to buy your own beer!) it’s a great way to become better informed about issues affecting you, and to have your say on them. Items on the menu include: access, guidebooks, and National Council updates; dogs at Bamford; car parking at Harpur Hill; and discussion about using a designated Peak crag, currently out of vogue, as a test-case to re-invigorate some of the area’s limestone crags.
There is an active thread about the meeting in the BMC Areas forum on UKClimbing.com
