The Mountain Leader Training Association held its first child protection training workshop on Saturday at Hagg Farm Outdoor Education Centre.
With UKCC accredited Child Protection Course Provider Alan Weightman at the helm, MLTA members were steered through the many issues related to the protection of children and vulnerable adults.
The day proved very useful to all who attended as it cleared up many of the myths surrounding this subject, leaving all with confidence to continue working with young people and vulnerable adults. The course also benefited from the presence of Nick Colton the BMC Deputy CEO who is responsible for the BMC's Youth programmes and child protection policy. All the course members contributed greatly to the wide and varied discussions that were pursued.
